Franklyn's breakfast, burgers & shakes

My wife and son brought a burger from this place and it was disgusting. Like beyond disgusting. It tasted extremely fowl. The meat tasted like it was rotten. Its not a hyperbole when i say it was the worst burger ive ever had. I had to throw it away. Im ashamed that my wife tipped them because they dont deserve it. We will never return.

What a find in downtown Reading, PA! Classic diner feel with fantastic food and service. We visited for breakfast and opted for a more traditional meal this time around but can’t wait to go back and try the fish and grits or the waffles topped with cheesesteak. Also looking forward to trying a burger and shake for lunch! The owner, Franklyn, greeted us shortly after we sat down and we had a great conversation about his place and about the revitalization of Reading. We’ll definitely be returning and we highly recommend anyone and everyone try Franklyn’s for breakfast and/or lunch.

This was our first time here, after mentioning to a friend we haven’t found a good breakfast spot in the city they recommended us Franklyn’s! Food was flavorful, staff were very friendly & the price was super affordable.

I have traveled to many places and eaten all around the world, but nothing compared to the sense of appreciation I felt when I dined here this past weekend. While visiting family in PA, we decided on a whim to have brunch at Franklyn’s, and we were completely blown away by the service, the food, and the overall experience. What really stood out to me was the personal touch. To have the owner take the time to come over, chat, and genuinely get to know his customers meant everything. So often we eat at large restaurant chains where we’re just another paying customer, but this felt completely different—and I loved it. Frank came over several times to check in and talk with us, and even the chefs and other staff members stopped by our table despite being busy. That level of care and hospitality made the experience truly memorable. The food was incredible, and the portions are HUGE and absolutely delicious! We ended up bringing so much food home because we simply couldn’t finish it all. This place is AWESOME, and I will most certainly be back the next time I’m in PA. Thank you to Franklyn and the entire staff for such a wonderful experience.

We felt like we was visiting a family member's home for Lunch! The owner came to our table and greeted us with a warm smile. The food was amazing and the server was very nice and attentive. We enjoyed looking at the reviews on the sticky notes from previous customers. You must try their Strawberry and Banana Milkshake, delicious. We enjoyed the music and we got to meet the chef he also came to our table. We would definitely eat here again. If I could give them 6⭐️ I would they deserves it!
